Hill Country Homes

Hill Country style homes feature all exterior rock with large gable ends. This was the “German” style of homes with a dog run in the middle of the house. The “compound” style with multiple out buildings is popular of the German era style but building additional out buildings increases the costs substantially. You may consider a detached garage with a covered porch to the main house to give it a multiple effect without adding a lot of costs. Covered porches are needed to protect the doors and windows from the excessive western exposure and allow you to enjoy the wonderful seasonal weather.

Mediterranean Homes

Having lived in the California and S. Utah area, we have built many Mediterranean style homes that were common in these sunbelt areas. Mediterranean style homes derive from the beautiful Mediterranean Sea area of Greece and Turkey. Exterior courtyards featuring tile floors with beautiful palms trees and open air porches. This style typically has an exterior of stucco, which is cooler in these hot climates or having a combination of stucco with rock or brick. The clay tile roofs blend nicely in with the landscape with natural “earth” colors of terra cotta or tan, and do not absorb heat. Open arches, high ceilings, plentiful windows and wide overhangs make these home attractive and never lose their value. We add many of these features in our Hill Country style homes to give it a contemporary look.

Country Homes

Country style homes are popular in any area. Large dormers on the front with long covered porches are great appeal to the country style homes. These homes never go out of style and will always be desired. An open floor plan with a wood balcony overlooking the family room, gives these homes a distinct style. A large style country kitchen with sufficient space make it a great place to have friends over.
